OUT ROOM OPENS AT SHHS: BUILDING STRONG BODYS ALONG WITH STRONG
MINDS |
| The
Special Gifts Committee celebrated the opening of the Fitness
and Conditioning Center for Stuart Hall High School. The basement
at 1911 Pine Street has been transformed into state-of-the-art
workout area with fitness, conditioning and stretching equipment.
The open house, held Nov. 8, was attended by Stuart Hall High
School parents, donors to the Conditioning & Fitness Center
fund and members of the Board of Trustees. Student athletes
demonstrated use of the equipment. Both Mike Armstrong, Athletic
Director for SHHS, and Terry Betterly, Director of Business,
Finance and Operations, were commended for their work on this
project, so important to SHHS's programs and recruitment efforts.
A similar Conditioning & Fitness Center, Multi-Purpose
Activity Room and Dance Studio are being developed on the
Broadway campus. A celebratory opening for those converted
spaces is scheduled for Jan.17, 2006, 6:00 pm.

Stuart Hall High
School athletes Ben Costa, Chauncey Aceret, Brendan Sullivan and
Will O’Leary were on hand to demonstrate the awesome new equipment.

Deborah and Robin Hicks made the fundraising
drive a family affair by involving Robin’s parents, Robert
and Geraldine Hicks, as donors. Deborah’s mother, Katherine
Loker (not pictured), also participated in the fundraising effort.

Jaime
Dominguez, Head, Stuart Hall for Boys, in consultation with Mike
Armstrong, SHHS Athletic Director and Dean about the equipment the
SHB boys will “grow into” someday.
