HAYES THANKS COMMUNITY FOR KATRINA RELIEF EFFORTS
Dear
Sacred Heart Students, Parents and Alumnae,
As the Christmas holiday season approaches, I am especially grateful
to all the members of our Sacred Heart family for all your support
and participation in the life of our Schools and the Network. As
you know, many people and institutions in Louisiana, Mississippi
and Alabama, including our school, "The Rosary," in New
Orleans, suffered extensive losses during Hurricane Katrina. I am
pleased to announce that Schools of the Sacred Heart, with your
help, sent $ 46,419 to assist the thousands left homeless and to
help with the transition of students from the Academy during these
past months.
I
am pleased to announce that "The Rosary" opened its doors
on November 7th, and that their headmaster, Mr. Tim Burns, has written
to thank us for our support, and to let us know that the entire
community is so grateful to be back at school. This is a real tribute
to all of you, and the spirit of generosity so prevalent in the
life of Sacred Heart schools. St. Madeleine Sophie Barat wished
for this spirit to characterize our life together, and I think she
would be pleased to see us striving to carry on her legacy today.
Many thanks to all of students, parents and alums who donated so
generously to the collections set up by the Society of the Sacred
Heart. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for all you do and
mean to us.
With
Love and Gratitude

Pam Hayes
